They are laughing between sips of coffee

Talking about the crazy weather, perhaps

The clink of porcelain is musical, almost

I sit here looking out the window

The leaves are dancing

Where seasons still change

Where people laugh over cups of coffee

And burnt deserts still taste sweet

Where nothing has changed

Yet everything is different

I can’t quite grasp it
